Academic Strategic Alliance: Taiwan and Oxford University

Funding Teachers and Students in Taiwan to Study in University of Oxford Project in 2018.

The programme “Academic Strategic Alliance: Taiwan and Oxford University” is held by National Cheng Kung University. To promote academic exchanges in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics fields with University of Oxford, the project for teachers and students in Taiwan to study in University of Oxford has been carried out. By which the research partners could share different research methods and experiences with each other. And could also joint exchanges in collaborative subject between teachers and researchers, and enhance power of cultivation of talent and academic collaboration from both sides.

I. Application Qualifications

(I) The application subject should refer to (1) Artificial Intelligence, (2) Robotics fields.

(II) Applicants should be teacher, researcher, and postdoctoral researcher, D. Phil. or M. Phil, who services in colleges or research institute in Taiwan.

(III) Already received consent document from the supervisor or the principle investigator.

II. Funding List and Content

Each one can received 100,000 NTD fund at most, and the amount could be modified due to the outlay and study period.

(I) International transportation fare: Claim reimbursed by saving receipts of economy class airline round trip ticket between Taiwan and University of Oxford, UK.

(II) Transportation fare in Taiwan: Claim reimbursed by saving receipts of public transport route between starting point and the airport.

(III) Cost-of-living allowance: according to the “Regulations for Applying the Overseas Business Trip Allowance.”

(IV) Handling charge: VISA and provide 400 million dollars comprehensive insurance for those went abroad for business during studying in the University of Oxford.

IV. How to Apply

Applicant should assemble documents below as a PDF file. And the document and email substance should name after 2018 Oxford short visit____ (applicant’s name) then sent to Ms. Hsu before 2.July.2018 (shihyi@mail.ncku.edu.tw.)

(I) Application form.

(II) Consent document from the supervisor or the principle investigator.

(III) Scanned file of D.Phil. or M.Phil. and postdoctoral researcher ID card.

(IV) Other reference information: research project which you had participated in, English ability certification…etc.

V. Notification

(I) This announcement is to explain the rules of applying research project. The information about the procedure for an application to receive the subsidies, as well as a report on expenditure verification shall follow the content verified by Executive Office.

(II) Applicants who have access to this project should arrange for accommodation and the airline tickets at self’s discretion.

(III) During this research project executing period, executor shall comply fully with laws, regulations, and directions in Taiwan.

(IV) Other unaccomplished matter shall follow the rule of subsidies and entrust project by Ministry of Education in Taiwan.
