September 13th, 2018. Successful symposium of the Academic Strategic Alliance between Taiwan and University of Oxford was held in Tainan

Successful meeting of the Academic Strategic Alliance between Taiwan and Oxford University was held in Tainan on September 13th, 2018 afternoon.  Total of 11 visiting scholars presented their research in the meeting. 4 of them came from the University of Oxford (Freek van Ede and Nicholas Myers from the Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity, Yu-Ping Lin from the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, and Richard Williams from the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology) and 3 scholars from Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit ( Richard Maude, Rapeephan Maude and Ratchaneewan Sinitkul). On the Taiwan side, we had representatives from the National Central University, Kaohsiung Medical University and National Cheng Kung University. A total of 65 people attended the event. 

Besides the scientific achievements, discussions were held on how to establish a platform to promote the collaboration between Oxford and Taiwan universities. This platform will share current collaborating research progress, resources, promote joint activities and other news. The Alliance looks forward to promoting the scholarly exchange between faculty, researchers and students in the future.
